Frameless
Frameless cabinets, popularized in Europe with the invention of hidden hinges, eliminate the need for trim boards. This design enhances ease of access by not requiring a frame for proper mounting, providing practicality with unobstructed access to compartments and concealed hinges.
Framed Construction
Framed cabinets have a visible or slightly concealed structural frame, requiring an overlay measurement for uniform door seating. They are also known as face-framed cabinets.
Full Door Overlay
A full overlay is a cabinet door that covers the entire face frame, minimizing gaps and revealing only a small portion of the storage area.
Partial Door Overlay
Partial-overlay cabinet doors have a ½-inch overlay, leaving 2 inches of the face frame exposed between doors for a traditional look. They are also known as standard, traditional, or half overlay. This design features a consistent 2-inch strip of the frame visible across all cabinets, with doors and drawers overlapping the frame evenly. It's a common and traditional style for cabinets.
